Being an Officer is about perfecting the rules of chess and learning basic strategies. Officers learn about the three main objectives of chess; Castling, Piece Development, and Control over the Center. Also, they will learn all the rules of tournament play. By the time Officers training is complete students should master:

  • Castling
  • Piece Development
  • Control over the Center
  • Tournament rules
  • Trading

Upon graduated from the Officer class, students are able to use basic chess strategies and play in tournaments. For practice try our Officer Practice Sheet.
