CheckMates Chess Academy will be running chess classes at the Morton Grove Park District on Tuesdays in the Summer of 2011. Chess Classes take place at the Morton Grove Park District on the Corner of Dempster and Waukegan. These classes are open to children of all chess levels, and are a great way to keep your child sharp minded during summer vacation. Beginners will learn how to move the pieces along with check and checkmate. Players who already know the rules will learn chess strategies and tactics such as pins, forks, skewers. As with all CheckMates Chess Classes, our focus will be on making sure kids walk away from chess classes with skills that will help them both on and off the board. Signup is handled through the Morton Grove Park District; they can be reached at (847) 965-1200.
