The Lake County Family YMCA will be starting chess classes with CheckMates Chess Academy in the Fall of 2011. A leader in the community, the Lake County Family YMCA has taken it upon themselves to host an advanced class that will train all the top students from across the northern suburbs. This chess class will have an advanced instructor and move a very quick pace. Advanced chess strategies will be learned here and students will compete together and against each other in a variety of tournament. As always, our focus will be not only on learning chess and being dominant chess players, but on how to apply these skills to real life.
